A Message from DG Paula Flisnik

DG PaulaLions, Lionesses and Leos,

As a Lion, I have been asked by many, Why did you become a Lion?  Why should I become a lion?

My reply has always been, I believe in the Lions’ mission: “To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs.”

International President Dr. Jitsuhiro Yamada’s primary goals are Dignity, Harmony, Humanity.  He states “Peace, hope, determination, teamwork and uniting people through service are central elements of my presidential theme.”  Dr. Yamada encourages all Lions to provide humanitarian service in four ways: youth, vision, hunger and environment.  Most importantly, serve in a way that always brings dignity to others.

My theme is Lions Building Lions…Forging Solidarity.  In conjunction with Dr. Yamada’s objectives, let’s have our district support each other, each club and work as a team!  Solidarity among our district’s Lions creates a stronger network, hence, promotes excellence in services and increased delivery to those in need.

I encourage our Lions’ Multiple District 20Y2 team to rise to the challenge and increase membership. So when someone inquires Why did you become a Lion?, sing the song of Lionism.
