Relief
For clubs and individuals who want to
donate to the relief effort, please click here
to learn how you can help the Lions and LCIF with this important
project. Remember that LCI already has the organization in place
to best handle this type of emergency, both immediate and long
term (we are still providing for the tsunami and Katrina areas
today). And all the money goes to relief; there no additional
administrative costs.
The 20-Y2 Leadership Workshop will be on
Saturday, May 8th, 8:30AM at St Joseph's Church in
Greenfield. Lunch will be provided by the District. Watch this spot for
details.
Here's
the application for the MD20
Convention in Buffalo, May 14-16, 2010.
Here's where you'll find the district
newsletter, latest changes to the district directory, district
officers and committee chairs, region and zone chairs, the clubs of
20-Y2, district organizations, cabinet meeting minutes, monthly
calendar of club meetings and district events and other info
that pertains to the district.
How to start and maintain a club web
site; what you should know about the new compulsory IRS
reporting requirements; getting funding for club
projects from NYS&BLF or LCIF; how to refer people to the Lions
Eye Institute; info on the Lions Affordable Hearing Aids Project; info on sponsoring a Leo club or other ways to get
involved with youth; how to submit articles to the district magazine;
where to find a speaker; sending a student to play in the MD20 band; a
monthly calendar to help arrange interclub visitations; info and
application for the 2009-2010 Leadership Achievement Award; club dues
structure; and lots of other goodies.
Here are links to Lions International
sites, the MD20 web site,
Sight Society of NENY (Lions Eye Bank), Lions Eye Institute, Hearing
Conservation Society, Lions Camp Badger, NABA, MD20 Pin Traders Club,
HOBY
and other related organizations.
Things that don't fit elsewhere: Helen
Keller's "Knights of the Blind" speech, a poem by Lion Sue
Shipe, info on becoming an organ-and-tissue donor, a history of Lions Clubs
International, why you should consider being DG, the MD20 budget, and other stuff that I'll add from time to time.
If you think it should be on this web site, but it doesn't fit
logically any place above, look here; and if you still can't find it, write
to me.
If you're already getting the newsletter
by e-mail,
you don't have to sign up. But if you don't know whether you're on the
e-distribution list, please sign up again. I'd rather have you twice
than not at all, and you'll still get only one newsletter.
The Lions year runs from July 1st to June 30th, so this site changes
drastically during the early summer as we update officers and committee
chairs. We make other changes regularly throughout the year, so please
come back and visit us from time to time.
Important note: If you are a Lion, Lioness or Leo in District 20-Y2, this is
your
web site and I welcome your participation in its development. What I
especially want from you are flyers about upcoming club functions, and
articles and photos about your community service programs. If you have
any comments, suggestions or criticisms about this web site, please send them to me by
clicking here.
